The Alianza for Mexican Americans (AMA), is a movement to ensure that “we the people” includes all of us! Let us unite to build momentum, raise awareness, demonstrate power to drive impactful change for Mexican Americans and marginalized communities. Together, we will fight for the enactment of legislation that creates a roadmap for citizenship, ensuring a brighter future for undocumented immigrants in this country. Our project harnesses the unifying power of music, mobilizing individuals like you to make a meaningful impact.

A world where Mexican Americans are treated with dignity and respect, where all families no matter their race, birthplace, age, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity are able to thrive and reach their full potential in the United States.

The Problem

Currently, there is not a pathway to citizenship for 11+ million
undocumented people living, working and contributing to society in the U.S.
The majority of our undocumented population are Latino with 52% being Mexican.

The current immigration system continues to separate families, keep kids in cages, and
have deaths in detention centers.
It has been nearly 40 years since Congress has reformed the U.S. immigration system.

Latinos are not a monolith. Current Latino engagement does not necessarily mobilize
Mexican Americans to participate in the political process and vote.

Media and politicians have subjected Mexicans to various negative stereotypes.
Such negative depictions can perpetuate harmful biases and contribute to the stigmatization of Mexican individuals and communities.

The Numbers

Creating a pathway to citizenship could:

Boost U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) by ~$1.7 trillion over 10 years;

Decrease federal deficit by $1.2 trillion;

Add $1 trillion to the economy; and

Create 438,800 new jobs over the next 10 years.

What We Do

We mobilize Mexican Americans and allies using the power of music to fight to for a pathway to citizenship and a just federal immigration system that is fair and humane, one that is people-centered, unites families, and welcomes immigrants as new Americans.
